前台北市長柯文哲與國民黨台北市議員應曉薇因涉京華城案遭羈押，先前獲裁定以 7,000 萬及 3,000 萬元交保。但檢方抗告，高等法院於 9 月 12 日撤銷原裁定，並發回更裁，指出原審理由前後矛盾。

Supporters gather to show solidarity for the Core Pacific City Retrial
Former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je and KMT Taipei City Councilor Ying Hsiao-wei were detained in the Core Pacific City case but later released on bail of NT$70 million and NT$30 million. However, prosecutors appealed, and on September 12, the High Court overturned the ruling and sent the case back for a new decision, citing inconsistencies in the lower court’s reasoning.
The Taipei District Court reopened the detention hearing at 10 a.m. on September 15. Supporters gathered outside, while TPP Secretary-General Zhou Yu-xiu visited, voicing trust in the legal team and judges and expressing hope for a fair ruling.

AIT States Taiwan's Status Remains Undetermined, U.S. State Department Reiterates Position
The American Institute in Taiwan recently said that China has misinterpreted World War II documents. It stressed that the Cairo Declaration, the Potsdam Proclamation, and the Treaty of San Francisco did not decide Taiwan’s final political status.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not dispute the statement and thanked the U.S. for its position on Taiwan policy and support for Taiwan’s international participation. However, the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation questioned whether this position could jeopardize Taiwan’s security. The U.S. Department of State reiterated its support for Taiwan, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining peace across the Taiwan Strait alongside international partners.

Experts indicate that global demand for semiconductors and AI chips will continue to drive Taiwan’s robust economic performance.
