國造潛艦原型艦「海鯤號」於6月17日上午8點正式離開台船碼頭，展開首次海上測試，歷時五個多小時後於下午順利返航。此次測試主要檢驗海鯤號的系統基礎性能，為未來潛航測試及戰鬥系統驗證做準備。

Taiwan’s home-built submarine “Narwhal” left the CSBC Corporation Taiwan’s shipyard at 8 a.m. on June 17 for its first sea test. After over five hours, it returned successfully in the afternoon. The test checked the basic performance of its systems to prepare for future underwater tests and combat system checks.
CSBC Corporation Taiwan said they will keep improving the systems and do more tests, with the submarine planned for delivery in November, marking a big step for Taiwan’s submarine development.

Trump Demands Iran's "Unconditional Surrender," Ali Khamenei Responds Strongly
The conflict between Israel and Iran has lasted six days, with both sides continuing to fire missiles at each other. On June 17, U.S. President Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the situation. He later posted on social media, saying the U.S. military fully controls Iranian airspace, demanding Iran’s “unconditional surrender,” and warning that his patience is running out.
On June 18, Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei publicly responded on social media for the first time, saying “the battle has begun” and giving a serious warning to Israel, making the conflict worse.

總統賴清德近日邀請在野黨主席進行國安簡報，卻因溝通不順最終破局。國民黨批評府方多次更改流程，從公開致詞改為全程閉門，且保密協議內容未事先溝通。民眾黨則未回應府方聯繫，最終拒絕出席。
總統府發言人郭雅慧表示，簡報內容為高度機密，因此採取閉門形式，並強調總統府未來將繼續努力促進朝野對話。
Blue and White Both "Unable to Attend": National Security Briefing Fails
President Lai Ching-te recently invited opposition party leaders to a national security briefing, but the meeting failed due to poor communication. The Kuomintang criticized the Presidential Office for changing the process many times, switching from an open speech to a fully closed-door meeting, and not explaining the confidentiality agreement in advance. The Taiwan People’s Party did not respond to the Presidential Office and refused to attend.
Presidential Office spokesperson Karen Kuo said the briefing was highly confidential, so it had to be closed-door. She emphasized that the Presidential Office will continue working to improve dialogue between the ruling and opposition parties.
