Trump Announces Israel and Iran Agree to Ceasefire, Ending 12-Day War
Not long after Iran launched missiles at a U.S. Air Force base in Qatar, U.S. President Trump announced on June 24 through social media that Israel and Iran had agreed to a temporary ceasefire. He said that if all goes well, the “12-Day War” will officially end.
After the announcement, global oil prices dropped sharply, and the three major U.S. stock index futures went up. U.S. Vice President JD Vance said in an interview that if Iran tries to build nuclear weapons in the future, it will face a very strong U.S. military.

Master's Student Suspected of Using AI to Create Fake References, Thesis Rejected
On June 19, Nanhua University received a report about a master’s student using AI to create fake references in their thesis. After a review, the university confirmed this violated academic ethics rules. The student’s thesis was given a failing grade, and they must rewrite it and retake an academic ethics course.
The university also stated it will improve academic ethics education and use AI detection systems. This case shows the risks of using AI in academic work and reminds everyone to focus on honesty in research.

Taiwan Affairs Office Criticizes Lai Ching-te’s Statement on “Nation” as a Crime
On June 22, President Lai Ching-te attended the “Ten Lectures on National Unity” and emphasized, “Taiwan is, of course, a nation.” He also refuted the Chinese Communist Party’s misinterpretation of United Nations Resolution 2758. China’s Taiwan Affairs Office criticized Lai’s words as hostile, calling them a “pro-independence” statement and accusing him of twisting historical facts.
In response, the Mainland Affairs Council said President Lai’s statements were clear and reasonable. They pointed out that China’s claim that the One-China Statement is not accepted by the international community or the people of Taiwan. They also urged China to stop pressuring Taiwan and to have rational talks.
