Trump Plans 10% Tariff on 100 Small Countries, Announces New Taxes on Medicine and Chips
On July 15, U.S. President Donald Trump said he plans to set a tariff “just above 10%” on about 100 small countries. Most of these countries are in Africa and the Caribbean Sea, with low trade amounts with the U.S. He said this policy will make processes simpler and help restructure U.S. and global trade.
Trump also said new tariffs on medicine and computer chips will start by the end of July. Businesses will have one year to move factories back to the U.S., aiming to boost local production and rely less on foreign suppliers.

With the ban lifted, NVIDIA launched the new RTX PRO chip, focusing on smart factory and logistics applications. This move strengthens its position in China’s AI market and is expected to boost the AI semiconductor supply chain and technology growth.
