前總統蔡英文7月24日表示，自己將於7月26日投票，支持台灣公民運動。
Former President Tsai Ing-wen said on July 24 that she will vote on July 26 to support Taiwan’s civil movement.
但她並未提及綠營主張的口號「大罷免，大成功」，此舉引發政壇解讀。
However, she did not mention the slogan “Big Recall, Big Success,” which is used by the pan-green side. This made many people in politics wonder why.
桃園市議員凌濤質疑，蔡英文可能因承受壓力才避談口號，並打趣表示「有難處可以眨個眼」。
Taoyuan City Councilor Ling Tao said Tsai might be under pressure. He also joked, “If you have trouble, you can blink.”
不過，蔡英文在貼文中強調，民主是人民的日常實踐，期盼將罷免行動轉化為台灣人共同參與的民主課程。
Still, in her post, Tsai said democracy is something people practice every day. She hopes this recall can become a lesson for all Taiwanese to join in democracy together.

China’s Attempt to Take Taiwan’s Congratulatory Message Sparks Criticism
台灣跆拳道男團於7月23日在德國世大運奪下銀牌，中國隊卻再度試圖搶走台灣選手的賀電。
Taiwan’s men’s taekwondo team won a silver medal at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Germany on July 23. However, the Chinese team tried again to take away the congratulatory message meant for Taiwan’s athletes.
體育署長鄭世忠嚴正譴責此行為，強調德國是民主國家，為自家選手頒發賀電、喊台灣加油，與奧會模式無關。
Cheng Shih-chung, Deputy Director-General of the Sports Administration, strongly condemned this action, emphasizing that Germany is a democratic country. Congratulating their own athletes and cheering for Taiwan is not related to Olympic Committee rules.
他呼籲中國隊停止傷害台灣人民情感，不應藉國際賽事打壓台灣。
He urged the Chinese team to stop hurting the feelings of Taiwanese people. He also said China should not use international sports events to pressure Taiwan.
第三則：川普關稅再升級 「處不來的課50%」
Trump’s New Tariffs: 50% for Unfriendly Countries
美國總統川普於7月23日宣布，將自8月1日起實施新的對等關稅政策，稅率範圍設定在15%至50%。
On July 23, U.S. President Trump announced a new tariff policy starting August 1. The tariff rates will range from 15% to 50%.
他表示，對於與美國關係不佳的國家，將課徵最高50%的關稅。
He said countries that have bad relations with the U.S. will face the highest tariff of 50%.
美國政府將採用直接且簡單的關稅制度，不會與每個國家逐一談判。
The U.S. government will use a simple and direct tariff system. It will not negotiate with each country one by one.
川普強調，若歐盟願意開放市場，美國將考慮調降關稅稅率。
Trump stressed that if the European Union opens its market, the U.S. will consider lowering the tariff rates.
第四則：台新新光7月24日合併 躍升第四大金控
Taishin and Shin Kong Merge on July 24, Becoming Fourth Largest Financial Group
台新金控與新光金控於7月24日完成合併，躍升為全台第四大金控，資產規模達8.58兆元。
Taishin Financial Holding and Shin Kong Financial Holding completed their merger on July 24. The new group is now the fourth largest in Taiwan, with assets totaling 8.58 trillion NT dollars.
專家表示，合併使台新金業務更完整，銀行與壽險排名提升，但短期仍將面臨文化與經營磨合。
Experts say the merger makes Taishin’s business more complete. Its ranking in banking and life insurance improves. However, the two companies will face cultural and management challenges in the short term.
合併採換股方式，新光金股東每持1股，將換得0.672股台新金普通股及0.175股特別股。
The merger uses a stock swap. Shin Kong shareholders get 0.672 Taishin common shares and 0.175 preferred shares for each Shin Kong share.
原新光銀行信用卡可繼續使用，無需立即換卡。合併後將整合銀行、壽險、證券與投信，預計2026年完成單一平台營運。
Original Shin Kong bank credit cards can still be used and do not need to be changed immediately. The group will integrate banking, life insurance, securities, and investment trust services. The single platform is expected by 2026.
第五則：台灣護照免簽139地 排名全球第33名
Taiwan Passport Ranks 33rd with Visa-Free Access to 139 Places
根據最新公布的恒理護照指數，台灣護照可免簽139個國家和地區，排名全球第33名。
According to the latest Henley Passport Index, the Taiwan passport allows visa-free access to 139 countries and regions. This ranks Taiwan 33rd in the world.
新加坡以193個免簽地點居冠，日本與韓國並列第二，各有190個。
Singapore ranks first with 193 visa-free destinations. Japan and South Korea share second place, each with 190.
香港與澳門分別排第17和31，中國第60名。排名最後的阿富汗僅能免簽25個國家。
Hong Kong and Macau rank 17th and 31st, while China is 60th. Afghanistan ranks last, with visa-free access to only 25 countries.
這顯示全球旅遊自由度仍在變動，影響出國便利性。
