The Legislative Yuan extended its session until August 31. It set a record as the longest in history, but important bills were not put on the agenda. Instead, committees arranged 110 site visits during this period. The expenses were close to the budget limit, and this caused debate over waste.
On August 30, members of the DPP criticized KMT and TPP lawmakers for delaying discussions, which led to a wasted session. China’s September 3 Parade Nears, Taiwan’s Kuomintang Plans to Attend
China will hold a military parade on September 3 at Tiananmen Square to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance. Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un are expected to appear together with Xi Jinping. On August 31, the Mainland Affairs Council warned that if Taiwanese individuals join the event, they may violate the Cross-Strait Act.
According to national security sources, Hung Hsiu-chu and several Kuomintang figures plan to attend. Experts believe Beijing uses the parade to control the narrative of history and put pressure on Taiwan. Observers worry that this move could affect cross-strait relations and Taiwan’s international image.
第四則：缺工推升薪資戰火 餐飲龍頭喊出200萬年薪
餐飲業因缺工壓力持續升高，王品、鼎泰豐與饗賓集團近期大幅調薪搶人才。鼎泰豐主廚與店長年薪甚至突破200萬元，饗賓更祭出「200萬起薪計畫」，希望吸引更多優秀人才。
不過，長工時與假日輪班的特性，讓缺工問題仍難解決。專家指出，餐飲業未來必須在高薪吸引與利潤維持間找到平衡，否則流動率將持續偏高。
Labor Shortage Fuels Pay War, Taiwan’s Restaurant Leaders Offer NT$2 Million Salaries
The restaurant industry is facing rising pressure from labor shortages. Wang Steak, Din Tai Fung, and Feastogether Corporation have recently raised salaries to attract workers. Salaries for some chefs and managers at Din Tai Fung have even gone over NT$2 million a year. Feastogether Corporation has also launched a “NT$2 Million Starting Salary Plan,” hoping to attract more skilled workers.
However, long working hours and holiday shifts still make the shortage difficult to solve. Experts point out that the industry must balance high pay with profit margins. Otherwise, the turnover rate will remain high in the future.
第五則：血型與壽命有關？O型最長壽A型最短命
根據美國醫師史蒂芬研究，血型不僅影響個性，還與壽命有關。A型血平均壽命為62歲，因為血液較濃，罹患心血管疾病風險高；AB型約70歲，身體狀況不錯，但情緒壓力容易影響健康。
B型平均壽命約77歲，消化吸收佳但容易過胖；O型則因免疫力好成為最長壽的族群，平均壽命可達87歲，小缺點是容易被蚊子咬！
Blood Type and Life Span? Type O Lives Longest, Type A Shortest
According to American doctor Steven M. Weissberg, blood type not only affects personality but also relates to life span. People with type A blood live about 62 years on average. Because their blood is thicker, they face a higher risk of cardiovascular disease. People with type AB blood live about 70 years, with good health, but emotional stress can easily affect them.
People with type B blood live about 77 years on average. They digest food well but are more likely to become overweight. People with type O blood have the strongest immune system. Their average life span can reach 87 years. The small downside is that they are more likely to be bitten by mosquitoes!
