第一則：馬太鞍溪堰塞湖潰壩 洪水重創光復鄉
馬太鞍溪堰塞湖於9月23日溢流重創光復鄉。水深一度接近一層樓，造成逾10人死亡、17人失聯，超過600人被迫入住收容所。光復第一市場攤商財損嚴重，街道滿地泥濘。
該堰塞湖自7月形成以來持續監測，雖在此次颱風樺加沙前已發布紅色警戒並啟動大規模疏散，但因規模龐大，加上部分民眾未及時離開，最終釀成傷亡。
Matai’an Creek Barrier Lake Overflows, Devastating Guangfu Township
On September 23, floodwaters from Matai’an Creek Barrier Lake hit Guangfu Township. Water reached nearly one story high, causing over 10 deaths, 17 missing, and more than 600 forced into shelters. Vendors at Guangfu Township First Market suffered heavy losses, and streets were left muddy.
Matai’an Creek Barrier Lake has been continuously monitored since forming in July. Despite a red alert and large-scale evacuations before Typhoon Ragasa, casualties still occurred due to the lake’s large size and some residents failing to evacuate in time.
第二則：月收入五萬以下免稅？賴清德說法惹議
總統賴清德宣稱，月收入五萬以下上班族明年可免繳所得稅，並由高所得者承擔大部分稅收。但財政部兩日後澄清，免稅需符合特定條件。
專家指出，此說法簡化了年所得62.6萬以下的免稅標準，偏離事實，並突顯台灣貧富差距擴大、年輕世代被邊緣化，以及國家經濟與社會公平問題亟待解決。
NT$50K Income Tax-Free? Lai Ching-te Sparks Controversy
President Lai Ching-te said that salaried workers earning less than NT$50,000 per month would be exempt from income tax next year, with high-income earners covering most of the tax. Two days later, the Ministry of Finance clarified that only those meeting certain conditions would qualify for the exemption.
Experts said that this statement oversimplified the tax exemption for annual incomes below NT$626,000 and was not accurate. It also highlighted Taiwan’s growing wealth gap, the marginalization of young people, and the urgent need to address economic and social fairness.
第三則：巨大公司自行車遭美暫扣 涉嫌強迫勞動
美國海關與邊境保護局在9月25日宣布，因調查發現台灣巨大公司涉及強迫勞動，包括濫用弱勢地位、扣留薪資與過度加班，已對巨大公司生產的自行車與零件發布暫扣令。
巨大公司必須選擇銷毀、出口，或提出證明貨物可以入境。台灣經濟部表示，將與勞動部合作，協助巨大公司釐清問題，盼能促使美方儘早撤銷暫扣令。
US detains Giant Bicycles over suspected forced labor
The United States Customs and Border Protection announced on September 25 that an investigation found Taiwan’s Giant company involved in forced labor, including abuse of vulnerable workers, withholding wages, and excessive overtime, and has issued a Withhold Release Order on bicycles and parts made by Giant.
Giant must choose to destroy, export, or provide proof that the goods can enter the United States. Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs said it will work with the Ministry of Labor to help Giant Bicycles clarify the issue and hopes to push the United States to cancel the order as soon as possible.
第四則：唐吉訶德創辦人安田隆夫 交棒24歲長子
日本零售巨頭唐吉訶德創辦人安田隆夫，在7月公開自己罹患肺癌末期，並宣布24歲長子安田裕作將接手母公司泛太平洋國際控股的股份，成為最大股東。
安田隆夫用30年打造唐吉訶德，全球已有近800家分店。未來，安田裕作將以非執行董事身份參與決策，帶來年輕觀點。外界關注他能否延續父親的零售帝國，並推動唐吉訶德在未來10年持續成長。
Don Quijote founder Takao Yasuda hands over to 24-year-old son
The founder of Japanese retail giant Don Quijote, Takao Yasuda, announced in July that he has terminal lung cancer, and said his 24-year-old son, Yusaku Yasuda, will take over shares of the parent company Pan Pacific International Holdings to become the largest shareholder.
Takao Yasuda founded Don Quijote over 30 years, and there are nearly 800 stores worldwide. In the future, Yusaku Yasuda will join as a non-executive director and take part in decisions, bringing younger ideas. The public is watching if he can continue his father’s retail empire and drive Don Quijote to grow in the next ten years.
第五則：NASA公布10位新太空人 女力佔六成
美國太空總署NASA在9月22日舉行盛大儀式，從超過8千名申請者中選出10位新太空人，其中有6位是女性，展現強大女力。這批新成員中，有人具備戰機與直升機試飛經驗，也有人擁有科技研究背景。
NASA計劃從中挑選4人執行2027年的阿提米絲3號登月任務，其中兩人可以實際踏上月球。未來，NASA設定在2030年後挑戰火星任務，為人類探索太空邁出重要一步。
NASA announces 10 new astronauts, 60% are women
NASA held a grand ceremony on September 22 and chose 10 new astronauts from more than 8,000 applicants. Among them, six are women, showing strong female power. Some of the new members have test flight experience with fighter jets and helicopters, while others have a background in science and technology research.
NASA plans to select four of them for the Artemis 3 mission in 2027, and two of them may actually land on the moon. In the future, NASA has set a goal to challenge a Mars mission after 2030, taking an important step for human exploration of space.
