Fipronil Found in Eggs, 150,000 Recalled Immediately
A food safety inspection in Changhua County found fipronil-sulfone at 0.03 ppm in white-shelled eggs, three times higher than the legal limit. The Food and Drug Administration said about 150,000 affected eggs had been distributed to nine counties and cities. All sales channels have urgently recalled them, and stopped sales.
Experts said the contamination may have come from corn feed residues, environmental pollution, or illegal pesticide use to control parasites. Toxicologists explained that fipronil is moderately toxic, and an adult would need to eat about eight contaminated eggs a day to exceed the safe limit. While there is no short-term risk of poisoning, eating too many over time could harm the liver, kidneys, and thyroid.

CCTV Targets Shen Boyang! China Threatens Global Arrest
China’s national TV station CCTV recently released a video naming DPP legislator Shen Boyang as a “Taiwan independence hardliner” and threatening to launch a global manhunt for him. Media reports said that police in Chongqing have already opened an investigation into Shen.
In response on November 9, Shen Boyang said that the 7-and-a-half-minute video made by CCTV was full of false claims and accusations, including lies that he had received money from Taiwanese businesspeople and the United States. He criticized China for using state media to interfere with another country’s sovereignty and stressed that Taiwan and China are separate and not under each other’s control. He urged China to stop making up charges and interfering in Taiwan’s affairs.

Longest U.S. Government Shutdown! Bipartisan Deal Brings Light
The U.S. government has been shut down for 40 days since October 1, marking the longest shutdown in history. On November 9, the Senate’s two parties reached a bipartisan deal to temporarily extend government funding until January 30 next year.
