淡北道路工程施工廠商於 11 月 27 日鑽破自來水管線，造成淡水區約 6.2 萬戶減壓或停水，影響長達三天，截至 12 月 1 日清晨，仍有逾萬戶未復水。
因長時間停水，不少民眾湧入新北市長侯友宜臉書留言表達不滿。侯友宜表示，自來水公司為確保管線安全而採低速加壓，市府將持續提供臨時供水站與水車補給，並研議補償機制及依約檢討承包商責任。
3-day Water shortage in Tamsui impacts 62,000 households! City promises to explore compensation measures
On November 27, a contractor damaged a water main during the Danbei Road project, causing water outages or low pressure for about 62,000 households in Tamsui. The disruption lasted three days, and by early December 1 more than 10,000 households still had no water service.
Because of the long water outage, many residents left messages on New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-yi’s Facebook page to express their dissatisfaction. Mayor Hou said the water company used low-pressure supply to protect the pipelines. The city government will continue to provide temporary water stations and water trucks, and will discuss compensation and review the contractor’s responsibility.

He said that Taiwan’s security depends on whether the international community sees a Taiwan Strait conflict as an international issue or China’s internal matter. He warned that if Taiwan accepts the One China principle, the international community may not intervene under the Charter of the United Nations, increasing the chance of China taking action.
